Great solution IMHO, if you fit with some the features below

• If you have old hardware you want to reuse (or new of course)
• Because of the above, can be inexpensive
• You don’t need fast write performance, good for archival, semi static data, photos and the such like
• Reasonable read speed, can stream HD content no problem
• The only media server I found that only spins up the drives that are being accessed, so low energy/running costs (good news if you want to leave it on 24/7)
